WHY ETHIOPIA?

http://www.compassion.com/sponsordonor/compassionmagazine/fromtheheartofthepresidentsummer08.htm
Hello fellow prayer partners. I am having an incredibly difficult time trying to make this blog all I want it to be, but sigh, it will just have to continue to wait. At least I can enclose a link in my posting here. The link will direct you to an article in the magazine that Compassion International publishes. The day this magazine arrived in my mailbox happened to be the very day I was fasting and praying for wisdom and guidance from God concerning WHERE our daughter would be waiting for us. (Actually many of you were praying for me as well, as it was last summer when I sent out the request for prayer for guidance.) I was deeply moved by the article and felt my Spirit nudged toward Ethiopia. We sponsored a young girl from Ethiopia through Compassion International for 5 years before she aged out of the program. She will be turning 24 on July 6th this year (2009). We would love for God to orchestrate events in such a way that perhaps we could meet her when we travel to get our Makeda. The program does not keep track of "graduates", so they have no "tabs" on Tiwlet, but last they heard she was working in a pastry shop in Addis Ababa, which is where we will be staying when we go to get Makeda. Regardless, I pray God's favor contiue to rest upon Tiwlet and on our sweet Makeda. Thanks for the support!

Promise for a Princess

This is the first entry in our adoption blog as we await the call from our agency letting us know exactly WHO our princess is. Our process began in the summer of 2008 and on April 4th 2009 we were officially on the waiting list to meet our toddler daughter from Ethiopia. She is to be between the ages of 1 and 3 years old. The wait we are told should be in the range of 12 to 18 months from April, 2009. We pray for her daily and look forward to seeing her beautiful face. Speaking of beautiful; we have already named her Makeda, which is an Ethiopian name that means beautiful. We look forward to sharing this exciting and glorious adventure with our family and friends and cherish your prayers for our family and our new daughter, as well as the entire adoption process that it would go smoothly. Thanks so much!
